Egypt Announces End of Paper Airport Forms

The Ministry of Civil Aviation in Egypt has made an important decision. It will stop using the paper “Passenger Card” at all airports in the country. This card was required for all travelers entering or leaving Egypt.

When Will This Change Happen?

The change will happen step by step. The paper cards will no longer be used for people leaving Egypt after January 2026. The new online system will start on February 1, 2026.

The Ministry is working with the police, security, and technology companies to make this change smooth and safe.

Why Is Egypt Making This Change?

The Minister of Civil Aviation, Samih El-Hefny, said the paper cards caused long lines and delays at airports. Many travelers complained about the time it took to fill them out.

This change is part of a bigger plan to make travel to Egypt better. The goal is to make Egypt a more modern and comfortable place to visit.

How Will the New System Work?

Instead of paper, travelers will use an online system. People can enter their information on a website or through their airline before their trip. This will make the airport process much faster. Police at the airport will check the information online instead of on paper.

Other Improvements at Airports

Along with this change, Egypt is making other improvements:

  • More e-visas and visas on arrival
  • More bank and service counters in airports
  • Better transportation inside airports
  • Faster baggage delivery
